Spa Guide · Hippocampe Pool
Beautiful, inviting water starts with a test.
You open the cover and feel like getting into the spa. To keep that enjoyment going, adopt a simple reflex: test the water, understand the result, and correct only what needs correcting.
Minéraluxe balancing products help you adjust alkalinity, pH, and calcium. Amaze Plus for spas complements a suitable program with its oxidizing and clarifying action.

Know where you stand before treating.
Balance
Choose the right adjuster based on the result.
Maintain
Maintain disinfection, oxidation, and filtration.
01 · The right reflex
Clear water alone is not enough to confirm safety
Clarity is reassuring, but it does not show everything. Health Canada reminds us that clear water may contain microorganisms and recommends daily testing of disinfectant, pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness.
Keep the chlorine or bromine at the level specified for your residential spa and its product: Health Canada indicates a range of 3 to 5 ppm. Balance adjusters and a clarifier do not replace this monitoring. View Health Canada’s advice →
02 · An easy habit to maintain
Test regularly, even when the spa looks pristine
Every day
Test your water and record the results. Before swimming, check that the parameters are suitable for your spa.
When the situation changes
After refilling, adding water, or heavy use, reassess rather than automatically using the usual dose.
After a correction
Respect the circulation and reading time specified for the products, then test again before deciding what to do next.
The Minéraluxe 6-in-1 test strips offer a practical reference at home. To use them:
- Check the expiration date and keep the container tightly closed and dry.
- Follow the container’s sampling and immersion instructions exactly.
- Compare the colors with the color chart at the indicated time, in good lighting.
- Note the date, result, and corrections made.
An in-store analysis can help after filling or if the results remain difficult to interpret. Bring your readings, the spa volume, and the list of products used.
03 · The Minéraluxe focus
Four correctors, four different needs
The right product depends on the analysis. Buying several correctors keeps them on hand; it does not mean you need to use them all.
| Your result | The corrector | Its role |
|---|---|---|
| Alkalinity too low | Alkalinity Plus | Increase alkalinity, which buffers pH fluctuations. |
| pH too low | pH Plus | Raise the pH. |
| pH too high | pH Minus | Lower the pH; also monitor alkalinity. |
| Calcium too low for your spa | Calcium Hardness Plus | Increase calcium hardness based on an appropriate analysis. |
Minéraluxe ideally recommends a pH of 7.4 to 7.6. Alkalinity and hardness targets should suit your equipment and maintenance program; check the spa manual and have your analysis interpreted.
One correction at a time
Start by having the alkalinity interpreted, then adjust the pH and hardness as needed. Calculate each dose based on the spa’s actual volume and the label. Allow the water to circulate as directed, then confirm the result.
04 · Oxidation and clarification
Amaze Plus: helping water regain its sparkle

An oxidizer with built-in clarifiers
Dazzle presents Amaze Plus as an active-oxygen treatment that breaks down non-filterable waste and supports water clarity. The manufacturer recommends weekly use or use after heavy usage, according to the label.
Its formula contains chlorine. It helps with maintenance, but does not by itself correct pH, alkalinity, or calcium.

If the water remains cloudy or develops an unusual odor, stop using the spa and have the water and filtration checked. Also see our guide to cloudy water, foam, and odors →

06 · Your questions
Answers for maintaining good habits
Do I need to treat the water every day?
Testing and treating are two different steps. Testing tells you whether an intervention is necessary. A good reading may simply confirm that you can continue your routine.
Why does my pH change?
Jet aeration can raise pH. Alkalinity also affects its stability. Compare results over time and have the parameters checked if you are making continuous adjustments.
Do I need to buy the whole set?
No. It is offered so you have the products on hand. If you already have some containers, use the individual buttons to add only what you are missing.
How should I handle the products?
Keep them in their original containers, out of reach of children. Never mix concentrated products; use a clean, separate measure for each one and follow the protective measures specified on the label.
When should I ask for help?
When the reading is unclear, the water does not respond to adjustments, or you change programs. Our Delson team can guide you based on your spa volume, test results, and products already used.
Your next moment of relaxation starts today.
Keep your test strips within reach and make testing a habit. A consistent routine helps you maintain inviting water and choose your adjustments with confidence.
