How do I choose between a round and oval pool?
A round pool works well for shared swimming space; an oval may suit a longer backyard. Compare the full installation footprint, not just the water dimensions. Définition is round; Nordik and Carvin also offer oval sizes.
Steel or resin: what difference does it make?
Définition uses a steel structure with corrosion protection. Nordik and Carvin offer resin structures or components and are salt-compatible. Also compare finishes, the liner, equipment and installation quality.
Is a saltwater pool chlorine-free?
No. The system turns salt into chlorine to sanitize the water. It can simplify care, but testing, water balance and cleaning are still necessary. Choose a pool and equipment compatible with this treatment.
Do I need a heat pump?
It is optional, but useful if you want warmer water and a longer swimming season. The right choice depends on pool size, exposure and your swimming habits. Using a solar cover between swims also helps retain warmth.
Is maintenance manageable for a first-time pool owner?
A regular routine helps you stay on top of care: test the water, adjust products, remove debris and maintain filtration. Saltwater pools still need these checks. We explain the basics and offer free in-store water testing to help you get started.
What should I include in the total budget?
Allow for the pool, liner, filtration and pool access, plus site preparation, installation and electrical work. Heating, saltwater treatment, decking and safety measures may add to the project. Your quote lists inclusions; backyard photos and measurements help us prepare it.
