In short: which option is right for you?
YOU REPLACE THE POOL
The replacement package
Best if your existing equipment is in good condition and compatible with the new pool. You replace the pool and its specified components, then reconnect the equipment you’re keeping.

The fully equipped pool
Best for a first-time installation or if you’re also replacing the pump, filter, and plumbing. The package includes the specified maintenance accessories and an additional conditional warranty.
See what’s included with the fully equipped option ↓What’s included in an above-ground pool replacement package?
A replacement package, sometimes called “pool only,” lets you replace the pool while reusing compatible equipment. At Piscine Hippocampe, the basic inclusions are:
- The pool and its frame.
- The new liner.
- A new main drain.
- A new skimmer.
You then reconnect your existing equipment. So the pump and filter aren’t automatically replaced with this package.
When is this option a good fit?
It’s a good option when the pool needs to be replaced, but the pump and filter are still in good condition, suited to the water volume, and compatible with the connections for the new project.
Before confirming this choice, have the condition and capacity of the equipment assessed. A piece of equipment that works isn’t necessarily suited to a pool of a different size or a new plumbing configuration.
What to prepare: photos of the pump, filter, their nameplates, and the connections. They’ll help our team discuss what can be kept.

Have my replacement package assessed →What does a fully equipped above-ground pool include?
The fully equipped package is suitable for a new installation, as well as a replacement when you want to upgrade the equipment. In addition to the pool and its liner, it includes:
- A pump and a filter.
- New, optimized plumbing to promote circulation and filtration, while taking the overall system’s energy efficiency into account.
- The planned maintenance accessories: brush, skimmer net, vacuum, and other accessories detailed in the quote.
- An additional three-year warranty, subject to conditions, on the eligible items specified below.
The equipment models, configuration, and complete list of inclusions are shown in your quote. Actual efficiency depends, among other things, on the pump selected, its settings, and the plumbing.
When should you choose this package?
This is an option to consider if you don’t yet have equipment, your equipment is aging, or you want to review how well the installation works as a whole. It lets us choose the pool, pump, filter, and connections together.
Already replacing your pool? It’s also a good time to discuss a variable-speed pump, a salt system, or other upgrades. These options must be confirmed in your quote, based on the selected configuration.

Additional three-year warranty: what does it cover?
For the fully equipped package, our additional three-year warranty covers the pump, filter, and eligible labour, subject to certain conditions, including labour related to the pool liner or frame.
The different components retain their respective manufacturer warranties. Additional coverage does not mean that all pool liner and frame parts are automatically covered by the same warranty.
Your quote specifies the coverage, terms, and applicable exclusions. Our team can explain the details before you decide.
The package and model go hand in hand
The model determines the appearance and structural features, among other things. The package specifies the equipment and accessories included with your project. We can review the available configurations with you based on the model you choose.

In either case, pay attention to the installation
Keeping an existing pump or choosing new equipment doesn’t take care of ground preparation. The required work, the condition of the base, and the protection beneath the liner should also be discussed.
At Piscine Hippocampe, our approach includes shaping the ground to suit the terrain, using precisely graded stone dust, mechanical compaction, and commercial-grade underlay. The scope of the work and whether it is included in your project must be specified in the quote.
Learn why preparing the ground is essential for installing an above-ground pool.
Frequently asked questions
Is the liner included in both options?
Yes. The liner is part of both the replacement package and the fully equipped pool. The liner selection is specified with your project.
Can I choose a fully equipped package to replace a pool?
Yes. A replacement can also be a good time to upgrade the pump, filter, and plumbing. The choice depends on the condition of the equipment and your goals.
Is a heat pump or salt system automatically included?
This needs to be confirmed. These items can be discussed based on your needs and must be listed in your quote to be considered included.
Should I replace a pump that’s still working?
Not necessarily. Its condition, capacity, and compatibility with the new installation need to be checked before deciding whether to keep it.
