Correctly Identify the 1½ in MPT Connection
The bottom connection is a nominal 1½ in MPT male thread. This designation does not necessarily correspond to the measured outside diameter of the thread. Compare its shape and pitch with your current cartridge; an SAE thread is not interchangeable with an MPT connection.
Installation
Shut off the system and follow the manufacturer's instructions before removing the cartridge. Compare the two filters, then install the PA-424 in the corresponding support without forcing the thread. Check that it is properly positioned before putting the system back into service.
