Replacing a Waterway Executive 56

The mounting footprint of this LX pump is comparable to that of the Waterway 4 HP pump mentioned in the compatibility data sheet. However, the LX wet end is smaller: the fittings on a Waterway Executive 56 do not align directly with those on the LX WUA200.

Measured vertically from the base, the LX discharge fitting is approximately ¾ in. lower, and the suction fitting is approximately ½ in. lower. Plumbing modifications may therefore be needed.

LX pumps manufactured before 2015

Older LX pumps manufactured before 2015 use metric threads. LX pumps and wet ends manufactured from 2015 onward use North American threads, which are incompatible with the older metric threads. When replacing an older pump, plan to replace the plumbing unions with the appropriate unions.

How to check compatibility

Do not choose a pump based only on the HP rating shown on the old label. Compare the 48 or 56 frame, voltage, number of speeds, high-speed amperage, and the dimensions and position of the fittings. Different methods of displaying HP can produce values that are difficult to compare; an oversized pump can damage the system.

Plumbing dimensions are nominal. As a guide, a 1 ½ in. fitting measures approximately 2 ⅜ in. in outside diameter, a 2 in. fitting approximately 3 in., and a 2 ½ in. fitting approximately 3 ⅝ in. Measure the threads on your current pump before ordering.

Rated amperages may vary slightly among pumps with comparable performance. Have electrical and hydraulic compatibility confirmed before installation.
